Bach conductorFor almost 40 years, a highlight of the musical scene of the Southern Tier and NE Pennsylvania has been the cherished “Service of Lessons and Carols” presented annually by the Madrigal Choir of Binghamton which kicks off the Holiday season.  The same is true in Bethlehem when the Bach Choir of Bethlehem presents their Annual Christmas concerts, providing a thrilling prelude to the festivities of the season.

This year, you too can share in the beloved music of the Bethlehem tradition by travelling with us to hear J.S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Parts 4, 5 & 6, sung by The Bach Choir with the Bach Festival Orchestra.

Founded in 1898, The Bach Choir of Bethlehem is the oldest Bach Choir in America and credited with the first complete performances in America of both the Christmas Oratorio and the Mass in B Minor, still sung annually at the Bach Festival held each May for over 100 years, an event that draws crowds of thousands.

Our trip will depart Binghamton Sat., Dec. 10 at 10 am, with a pick-up in Hallstead for our Pennsylvania friends.  You can expect to arrive in the Historic District of Bethlehem approximately 12:30 pm, leaving your afternoon free to explore the rich heritage of the Moravians who settled in 1741.  Aside from the historical sites, you will find charming shops, boutiques, Christmas bazaars and a plethora of wonderful dining options.  Your day will pass quickly before heading off to hear the concert!

This trip is priced at a low $89 and is expected to sell out quickly.  An optional box lunch* is available upon arrival for an additional $8.  We hope you will join us for what promises to be a delightful holiday occasion!

Check the following links for further information on planning your day:

* Optional box lunch will include sandwich, chips, side of pasta salad, cookie and bottled water.

**Please note, it is highly recommended that you make advance dinner reservations, as the Historic District will be busy with visitors.
